Electra and MAGicALL Take NASA Chief Bill Nelson for a Historic Flight

Powered by MAGicALL’s advanced MAGiDRIVE Electric Propulsion Units (EPUs), Electra made history when NASA Administrator Bill Nelson flew aboard their hybrid-electric EL2 Goldfinch Ultra Short prototype aircraft. This landmark flight on December 8 marked the first time a U.S. government agency head has flown on a next-generation Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) aircraft.

The 24-minute demonstration showcased the aircraft’s impressive capabilities, enabled by MAGicALL’s cutting-edge propulsion technology. Nelson experienced firsthand the Goldfinch’s unique ability to take off and land with just 150 feet of ground roll—equivalent to a soccer field-sized space—making sustainable point-to-point travel a practical reality.

“Flying aboard this new technology is an inspiring example of how innovation and determination can redefine what’s possible in aviation,” said Nelson during his visit to Electra’s headquarters in Manassas, Virginia.
