CAMARILLO, CA – April 10, 2025 – MAGicALL, Inc., a leading American manufacturer of high-performance brushless motors, today released a case study highlighting its partnership with REGENT Craft in developing the Viceroy Seaglider, an innovative electric maritime vehicle.
“REGENT came to MAGicALL to provide environmentally rugged electric propulsion technology for their revolutionary Viceroy Seaglider,” said Joel Wacknov, CEO of MAGicALL. “Our American-made motors deliver the performance and reliability needed for this groundbreaking application.”
The Challenge
The Viceroy Seaglider operates in three modes: floating on its hull, rising on hydrofoils, and flying in ground effect above the water at speeds up to 180 mph. This required electric motors that could withstand maritime environments while delivering high performance.
The Solution
MAGicALL was selected by REGENT to supply the motors for the Viceroy’s all-electric distributed propulsion system. The company’s brushless motors feature:
- Rugged design suitable for maritime operations
- High torque-to-weight ratio
- Efficient performance for extended range
Results
The integration of MAGicALL’s motors has helped REGENT achieve significant progress with the Viceroy Seaglider:
- Successful quarter-scale prototype testing completed
- Full-scale sea trials with passengers began in early 2025
- Commercial service expected by mid-decade
The 12-passenger Viceroy has a targeted range of 180 miles and cruise speed of 180 mph, operating exclusively over water between coastal destinations.
