CAMARILLO, CA – April 16, 2025 – MAGicALL, Inc., a leading American manufacturer of high-performance brushless motors, today announced significant milestones achieved in its ongoing partnership with Vertical Aerospace for the development of the revolutionary VX4 electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
Vertical Aerospace’s VX4 has successfully completed key flight tests powered by MAGicALL’s advanced MAGiDRIVE electric propulsion technology, demonstrating exceptional performance that is helping to revolutionize urban air mobility.
“The successful flight testing of the VX4 represents a major achievement for both our companies,” said Joel Wacknov, CEO of MAGicALL. “Our MAGiDRIVE integrated motor-controller system delivers the high torque-to-weight ratio and reliability that Vertical Aerospace needs for their groundbreaking aircraft.”
Technological Advantages
The VX4 utilizes MAGicALL’s integrated MAGiDRIVE propulsion units to power its eight propellers, which provide both lift and forward thrust. Key benefits of the MAGiDRIVE technology include:
- Industry-leading torque density exceeding 40 Nm/kg
- System efficiency greater than 95% for extended range
- Rugged design for reliable operation in demanding environments
Performance Achievements
The integration of MAGicALL’s electric propulsion technology has helped Vertical Aerospace achieve several performance targets with the VX4:
- Range of up to 100 miles (160 km)
- Cruise speed of 150 mph (240 km/h)
- Significantly quieter operation than comparable helicopters
- Exceptional reliability through distributed propulsion
The VX4 is designed to carry four passengers plus a pilot and is currently progressing through its comprehensive flight test program. Vertical Aerospace is targeting commercial service by 2026 with over 1,400 conditional pre-orders already secured from global aviation partners.
